3/1/12 Workout

Today was a great day outside, with the temperature over 70, it was difficult to resist running outdoors.  Staying close to my neighborhood, I was able to run 4.3 miles in 31:27.  I hope to add a few more longer runs over the next few days to bump this week’s mileage to near 20 miles. 

Besides running, I am also currently reading Performance Nutrition for Runners by Matt Fitzgerald.  Although some chapters seem to drag, I am currently enjoying the read.  I found the chapters on optimizing your body composition and hydration and nutrition during running very informative.

This weekend we are visiting my hometown, Hays, Kansas.  I enjoy sneaking in a run or two while we’re there.  I’ve always thought running was a great way to explore a new area or city, but I recently realized it’s always a great way to bring back long lost memories.
