7/16/12 Training

I started the week off with a 3.11 mile run in 22:27 this evening.  It was still warm, but the shorter distance helped considerably.  Much like yesterday, I didn’t have many thoughts on the run.  Instead of filling some space with running thoughts (especially since I didn’t have many), I thought I would update you on my gardening efforts.  Today was a bumper crop for picking blackberries and earlier this week I picked all of my winter onions and planted more.  Our tomato plants have lots of green tomatoes, none ripening quite yet though.  Our cucumber plants have lots of blooms.  We’ve already picked quite a bit dill as well.  It’s hard to beat a vegetable or herb you’ve grown yourself.  The trick we have to learn is keeping the insects and rabbits away.
